Bill Evans / A House Is Not A Home

In stock

This is a transcription of the jazz pianist Bill Evans’ recording. A House Is Not A Home was a track in the album of I Will Say Goodbye that was released in 1980 although recorded in 1977 (Evans mentioned how Eddie Gomez played beautiful solos in Marian McPartland’s NPR radio program Piano Jazz, in 1978).

Bill started playing first theme as solo piano. The harmony and the arpeggio are so beautiful as well as the inner voice he managed along with the melody. Eddie Gomez joined from the bridge. It repeats two choruses. Evans’ solo was on first 16 bars in the second chorus but it was almost following the original melody.

From the second bridge, the tempo was rubato again. The performance was entirely beautiful and the transcription successfully captured the music in to the staff sheet.

Currently, this transcription is licensed only in Japan so not allowed to distribute worldwide. But we strongly wish to make this available overseas. We would be grateful to have advises to clear copyright issue. Please email us if you have an idea. Thank you.
